Assistant Manager

The Assistant Store Manager at Fit2Run is a key hourly leader who supports the Store Manager in driving sales, delivering an exceptional customer experience, and developing the store team.This role is primarily floor-based and customer-facing, leading by example through selling, coaching, and supporting daily store operations. The Assistant Manager helps ensure the store runs smoothly during their shifts and plays an important role in building a positive, high-performing team environment.This role is designed as a development pathway to Store Manager, with expectations that the Assistant Manager will be ready to step into a Store Manager role based on performance and business needs.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Customer ExperienceActively sell on the floor and deliver Fit2Run's Fit process with every guestProvide product knowledge, gait analysis, and personalized recommendationsSupport team members by modeling strong selling behaviorsProvide in-the-moment coaching to improve conversion and ATVAssist with resolving customer concerns and escalating when neededSuccess Metrics:Individual and store sales performanceConversion rateAverage transaction value (ATV)Customer experience and feedbackTeam Support & CoachingServe as Leader on Duty (LOD) during assigned shiftsSupport onboarding and training of new team membersReinforce company standards, expectations, and service behaviorsProvide real-time feedback and encouragement to team membersCommunicate team needs and performance observations to the Store ManagerExpectations:Positive leadership presence on the floorConsistent support of team developmentStrong communication with Store ManagerStore OperationsExecute opening and closing procedures accuratelySupport daily store operations and ensure tasks are completed during shiftsMaintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual standardsAssist with company initiatives, promotions, and product launchesScheduling & Timekeeping SupportFollow posted schedules and support shift coverage as neededAssist with shift adjustments or coverage gaps when directedEnsure accurate clock-in/out and compliance with timekeeping policiesInventory & MerchandisingAssist with inventory tasks including restocking and cycle countsHelp maintain visual merchandising standardsSupport inventory organization and accuracyCommunity EngagementParticipate in Run Club and store events when scheduledSupport in-store events and community initiativesHelp create a welcoming and engaging store environmentEmployee Relations & CulturePromote a positive, respectful, and inclusive team environmentSupport company policies and proceduresEscalate employee concerns to the Store Manager or HR when appropriateKey Performance ExpectationsDeliver strong individual sales performanceSupport achievement of store sales goalsProvide consistent, high-quality customer serviceDemonstrate reliability, accountability, and teamworkFollow company policies, procedures, and timekeeping standardsQualifications1–3 years of retail or customer service experience (lead or key holder experience preferred)Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environmentWillingness to learn, coach others, and take initiativeFlexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPassion for running, fitness, or specialty retail preferredPhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 40 lbs.Frequent interaction with customers and team membersPrimarily floor-based, active roleFit2Run ExpectationsLead by example through service, energy, and teamworkBe present and engaged with customers and team membersSupport the Store Manager and team in achieving store goalsTake pride in creating a positive store experience for every guest
