Job Title: Program Instructor
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Reports to: Associate Program Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides day-to-day leadership for youth and adult participants who are engaging in outdoor education and conference activities at Camp Hanes. You will be trained to facilitate and guide learning; will complete lesson planning, activity facilitation, meal delivery, evening programming, and lead both youth and adults in team building of all levels. Will address immediate complaints and resolve problems to the best of their ability with assistance from Associate Program Director and Program Director.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Staffing
Attend required meetings and trainings.
Program Service/Delivery
With oversight from Associate Program Director and other management staff, directs and supervises program activities to meet school curriculum and objectives.
Facilitates high ropes, challenge course, aquatic, and educational activities for both youth and adults based on certifications and qualified training.
Implements character development, mission, diversity initiatives, and quality initiatives into program and member service delivery.
Facilitates hands-on programming and program development.
Engages guest and assists to meet day to day programming needs.
Offers fun, safe, quality programs that are in accordance with ACA and association policies/guidelines.
Monitors equipment, supplies, and/ or other program materials.
Assist to obtain and evaluate programs and member feedback; implement changes to programs and services as directed.
Keeps all departmental equipment in safe, operable, and clean condition.
Administrative/ Leadership
Assist in gathering photos and other material for social media and print marketing.
Ensure policies and procedures are followed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma/ GED required; Associate’s degree from two-year college preferred or relevant work experience.
CPR/First Aid/AED – must obtain certification within first 90 days of employment and maintain a current certification thereafter.
Experience working with youth is required. Other related experience preferred.
Exemplifies a proactive, hands-on approach, as well as a professional work ethic
Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including nights and weekends
Strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills
Energetic, devoted, mission driven, team oriented individual
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Seasonal
Pay: $400.00 - $450.00 per week
Expected hours: 40 per week
