If you have a passion for food service and enjoy working in a community-focused setting, we invite you to apply.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents' preferencesAssist with meal planning and ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are maintainedSupport the lead cook and provide relief coverage as neededMaintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areasCollaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs and requestsEnsure timely delivery of meals to residents and assist with meal service and clean-upHours are between 14-20 per week, with opportunities for more!Skills and Qualifications:Previous experience in food preparation or cooking, preferably in a senior living or healthcare settingKnowledge of food safety and sanitation standardsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and teamwork skillsFlexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidaysCompassionate attitude and respect for seniors and their needsAt Fairview Estates, we foster a supportive and inclusive culture that values growth, teamwork, and the well-being of our residents. Join us and be part of a community that cares!Education:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Licenses/Certification:ServSafe Food Safety Certification required.Food Handlers permit if required per state regulations.Experience:One years' experience in large quantity food preparation and cooking. Experience with therapeutic diet preparation preferred.Six months experience in a long term care or senior living environment preferred.NOTE: Federal Child Labor Laws do not permit employees younger than 18 years of age to work with or repair, adjust, or clean power-driven machines such as meat slicers and commercial mixers. Therefore, individuals must be at least 18 years of age to be employed in this position.
