Project Manager 2 Plant Asset DataClient- Southern Company ServicesLocation: Birmingham, AL Contract- 2 YearsTravel: Up to 50% (day and overnight travel)Position SummaryWe are seeking a Project Manager 2 Plant Asset Data to lead projects focused on improving the accuracy, integrity, and governance of Generation asset data across the fleet.This role sits within the Operations Data Analytics organization and is responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams to implement a comprehensive Data Governance and Remediation strategy. The Project Manager will serve as the central point of coordination among engineering, operations, supply chain, asset management, and technology teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & ImplementationLead planning, coordination, and execution of asset datarelated projectsDevelop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource allocationsFacilitate project meetings, track action items, and ensure stakeholder alignmentMonitor progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions as neededCoordinate transition from existing asset data models to standardized data modelsSupport end-user training, change management, and adoption effortsProject ObjectivesImprove accuracy, completeness, and quality of generation asset dataIncrease data usability and accessibility across business unitsEstablish a strong foundation for data governance and controlsDevelop and execute a comprehensive Data Strategy including governance, controls, and remediationKey DeliverablesAssess existing asset data models and supporting systems across GenerationGather and document business requirements for a unified asset data modelDevelop and implement a standardized asset data model aligned with industry best practicesDocument input from stakeholders (engineering, supply chain, asset management, operations, maintenance, IT)Establish data governance policies, procedures, and ownership rolesExecute transition and implementation plansDeliver training, communications, and support to ensure successful adoptionRequired QualificationsExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience in power plant, power delivery, or heavy industrial environmentsMinimum 3 years of experience in project management or a similar roleEducationBachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field (preferred)CertificationsPMP certification preferred but not requiredKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesProven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projectsStrong understanding of power plant or utility operationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong documentation, organization, and attention to detailAnalytical and solution-oriented problem-solving mindsetAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Project, and related toolsStrong customer and stakeholder focus
