Curriculum Specialist
In-person position that provides curriculum and instruction support, consultation, and professional learning for member school districts and educational entities. Support and enhance the deliverables of the PA state initiatives. Using an entrepreneurial mindset, create new curriculum services to meet the changing regional needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include:
Provide leadership in curriculum, assessment, and instruction to the Intermediate Unit and school districts in support of and/or as directed by the Division Director.
Provide and facilitate adult learning and professional learning opportunities on a variety of educational areas.
Provide professional learning opportunities in current best practices including but not limited to data-informed decision-making, school improvement, evidence-based practices, and curriculum development.
Coordinate design and development of courses, projects, and programs for IU employees, district administrators, and teachers.
Design and develop solutions for administrative and/or organizational implementation based on current and emerging practices in organizational development.
Facilitate and guide comprehensive planning and school improvement processes at both the district and school levels.
Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends in educational practice, ability to design solutions and implementation models, and work with school and district administrators and teachers to implement programs.
Remain responsive to district professional learning needs as well as the deliverables of the PA state initiatives.
Supervise staff as assigned by the Division Director.
Maintain a valid PA Driver’s license and be able to travel as needed to support regional and statewide needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
PA Certification in Education required
Masters Degree preferred.
Relevant Administrative certification preferred
Requires knowledge of curriculum (curriculum design and implementation).
Requires a working knowledge of Pennsylvania and Common Core Academic Standards, the Pennsylvania System of Assessment, and standardized testing.
Requires extensive knowledge of instructional pedagogy, classroom-based assessment, and adaptation of instructional materials to meet the needs of all learners.
Requires working knowledge of School Improvement Planning and continuous school improvement
models.

Job experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience at the K-12 level, including experience with educational leadership.
Previous staff training experience
Prior work in curriculum development, staff development, and other related experiences.
Previous experience with project design and management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
