Insurance Counselor I

Job Description:Provide education and guidance to DaVita patients about health insurance and the implications of different insurance optionsHelp alleviate the stress that dialysis patients often experience in navigating complicated insurance options and employment decisionsTravel to our DaVita clinics in central Orlando and other surrounding areasConduct patient insurance education while operating within established compliance parameters of the companyIdentify and effectively communicate opportunities to better the insurance status of the patientProvide information to patients to help them find and/or secure options for insurance coverage and other financial assistance programs as necessaryComplete insurance assessments/evaluations for patients to accurately document patient education sessionsAct as a liaison between patients, facility teammates, billing office and the corporate office to resolve patient insurance issues and/or concernsBuild and maintain relationships with field partners to ensure seamless patient supportAttend team meetings, phone conferences, and trainings as needed; may assist with onboarding and training of new teammates.Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent is requiredMinimum of two (1) years' experience working with Medicare and Medicaid insurance as well as commercial insurance plans and benefits (PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Indemnity) strongly preferredMinimum of two (1) years' experience in a healthcare organization working with clinical staff and patients preferredBasic computer skills, high speed internet (minimum of 40 GB) and a private workspaceValid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordBilingual(English/Spanish) preferred.Benefits:Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, PTO cash outSupport for you and your family: Family resources, EAP counseling sessions, access Headspace, backup child and elder care, maternity/paternity leave and moreProfessional development programs: DaVita offers a variety of programs to help strong performers grow within their career and also offers on-demand virtual leadership and development courses through DaVita's online training platform StarLearning.
