Senior Project Manager - Commercial Construction

Job Overview Join our Commercial Construction team and take the lead on some of Maine’s most visible and complex projects across housing, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, and beyond. As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll own project outcomes from preconstruction through closeout, driving financial performance while leading high-performing teams. You’ll drive project success by aligning scope, schedule, budget, and quality, while mentoring team members and strengthening client relationships. Job Requirements Lead large and/or multiple commercial construction projects through all phases, ensuring successful delivery from preconstruction through closeout. Deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards through strong planning, proactive issue resolution, and efficient closeout processes. Drive financial performance by leading budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and WIP reviews to meet or exceed goals. Anticipate and mitigate risk, make critical decisions, and resolve complex issues, escalating key concerns as needed. Lead effective meetings, ensure clear documentation, and promote disciplined, consistent project execution. Develop and execute detailed project schedules, milestones, and completion plans to ensure consistent progress. Lead contract administration and negotiate change orders that protect company interests while maintaining strong client relationships. Oversee procurement, material delivery, and subcontractor coordination to maintain schedule, cost efficiency, and jobsite productivity. Foster strong communication and collaboration with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams. Mentor and support project team members, driving accountability, best practices, and continuous improvement. Education, Experience, and Skills Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 10+ years of commercial construction experience, including managing projects ranging from $10M–$75M+. Proven track record of delivering strong financial results and effectively managing project risk. Expertise in contracts, scheduling, and construction financial management. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage subcontractors, and drive project performance. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop and sustain strong client partnerships and identify new opportunities. Highly organized with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with keen attention to detail. Proficient in reading construction drawings and specifications, and experienced with project management tools (Procore, Sage Timberline, MS Office, MS Project preferred).
