We provide a full range of superior home care services to culturally diverse clientsChinese, Korean, Spanish, Russian, Yiddish and English speaking clients.Apply to be a Senior Helpers of Northern Queens Caregiver today!Summary Of Role:Great working environment, competitive pay rates and benefits.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:Provide protection to our client in their homesAssist with planning and preparing daily nutritious meals and in feeding client, as appropriateLight housekeeping of client's environment, including linens and making bedLaundering client's clothing and beddingAssisting clients with shoppingFeeding clients petsWatering client's plantsTransport clients to appointments and other important outings in a safe and timely mannerTransferring and ambulation (bed to chair, wheelchair and shower, etc.)Medication assistance/remindersAssist with reminders for home Physical Therapy exercises/exercise planUse equipment and supplies safelyEngage with client in favorite activities including: conversation, hobbies, activities, board games and other types of activities for the client.Monitor, observe, and encourage range of motion exercises and other procedures as instructed by any professional staff.Maintain a written log with receipts of all client money used to purchase goods or materials for the client's care.Report any changes in client's condition to the Supervisor right away.Document care provided consistent with agency requirements.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesA demonstrated ability to effectively interact with colleagues, clients and supervisors.Ability to exercise good judgment and self-control.Good comprehension and communication skills, with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through verbal and written communication.Must demonstrate enthusiasm, trustworthiness, personal integrity and honesty.Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect.Ability to communicate with clients and to remain calm under stress.Demonstrated ability to operate safely in the workplace.Ability to work autonomously and understand when a superior needs to be involved in decision making.Good decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and implement the best solution to solve problems or challenges.Self-motivated, with a dedication to keeping up to date technically.QualificationsNo experience required!! We can provide all required trainingHigh school diploma or educational equivalentMust be at least 18 years oldMust have safe and reliable transportation to go to and from the client's location and/or facilities in order to assist clients with shopping needs if requiredPhysical ability and stamina to work long hoursPreferred:At least one year of experience working in home health care, supporting a loved one, customer service experienceValid and current state driver's license and insuranceAvailability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidaysPhysical Demands Include But Are Not Limited To:Able to lift, move, and assist clients.
