Manufacturing Engineer – CI & Safety(Open to recent Grad)
12 months contract ; May extend**Visa sponsorship is not available, now or in the near future, for this position**Onsite role in Davenport, IAWe will consider recent graduates at a rate equivalent to experience**Primarily 1st shift, but will need to be able to flex to 2nd/3rd shift for coverage, etc**No OT expected at this timeThis resource will improve Fabrication’s safety culture through active engagement: 48 hr conversation, execution and project closure. The goal is simple: Get More Projects Done and Improve visibility to project completion.What• Pro-active & reactive safety activities• Address safety observations• Aid in CI project executionHow• Prioritize projects• Facilitate project communication between shifts• Hours must be flexible. We want this resource to be capable of floating between shifts so that he can help support 3rd & 2nd shifts.As an OFP engineer you will provide daily engineering support to manufacturing areas in the Davenport Works fabrication departments:- Support daily operation by responding to tactical safety issues- Participate in Continuous Improvement to achieve CI200 targets for safety- Innovate & implement safety & ergonomic improvement ideas- Specify and design tooling to improve safety both pro-actively & reactively- Communicate across multiple shiftsEngineering background required and familiarity with Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial EngineeringMust be able to work and communicate effectively as part of a diverse team that includes UAW employees, operations, and engineering.Metatarsals required for first day.Onsite position. Remote work not possible.Experience in primaries (lasers), secondary (bend), weld (both manual & robotic) & machining is nice to have but not required.
