Your impact Knack Works is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Junior to Mid-Level Platform Engineer to support the design, implementation and maintenance of our specialized developer platforms. The role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience building and maintaining platforms, automating infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring security and compliance, collaborating with development teams and providing tools to help developers within the platforms. Responsibilities: Manage Linux systems (on-premise and cloud infrastructure) Provide hardware and software support for users, customers and personnel Collaborate with a team of engineers to design, implement and test features and functionality to support Knack Works’ high performance computing products Support the development of system documentation Develop and define techniques and tools to support the most efficient solution to meet program needs Maintain and provide technical expertise in all areas of hardware, software and networking Ability to troubleshoot systems, performance, and security issues Follow change management and implementation best practices Collaborate with systems, security, and support teams as needed Scripting experience (e.g., bash, python, ansible, etc) Execute and coordinate the end-to-end remediation of critical and high-risk vulnerabilities, including analysis, patching, mitigation, and validation. Deploy, upgrade and manage containerized applications in a Kubernetes Cluster Build containerized applications to include building containers, writing helm charts, and testing helm deployments in Dev and Test Kubernetes Clusters Automate infrastructure tasks using tools such as Ansible, Python or Bash Here's what you'll need 3-7 years of hands-on Linux system administration experience At least 1 year of experience working with Kubernetes Clusters or related cloud native technology Knowledge of DevOps practices and automation Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field Experience with installation and implementation of hardware, software and networking equipment Familiarity with common hardware vendors (e.g., HP, Dell, etc.) and cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.) Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation Strong troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Good communication and collaborations skills with the ability to work in a team environment Experience working in development and operational environments A current active TS with SCI eligibility and willingness to take a polygraph exam Ability to obtain a CompTIA Security+ CE certification within the first 6 months of employment Desired Requirements: Current TS/SCI with Poly Hypervisor configuration and maintenance experience (e.g., VMware, Libvirt) CompTIA Security+ CE certification Experience with: System monitoring tools Linux OS (RHEL/Rocky/Fedora/RHEL compatible) Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure or similar) Experience working in an enterprise or multi-site environments Kubernetes experience LDAP knowledge What We Offer: Opportunities for personal and professional growth Hands-on exposure to real-world, rewarding projects Supportive team environment with mentoring by some of the best in the field Competitive salaries, and outstanding benefits package with many lucrative perks Training and certification support Posted Salary Range: Minimum 100,000.00 Posted Salary Range: Upper 180,000.00 Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
