Find your future with us.The Boeing Company’s Information Digital Technology and Security (IDT&S) organization Specialized United States Infrastructure Operations (SUSIO) group is currently seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join the team in Herndon, VA; Fairfax, VA; or Chantilly, VA.As a Senior Linux Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring the stability, security and efficiency of our systems. Our team of experts is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology and delivering exceptional results.Position Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based systems and infrastructure, integrating DevSecOps practices throughout the development lifecycleCollaborate with cross-functional teams to automate security controls, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checksMonitor and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability, reliability, security and conformance to Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirementsSimplify, automate and optimize patch management and compliance of Linux operating systems and applicationsTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Linux systems, with a focus on security and complianceConduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with security standards and industry best practicesProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team membersStay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending improvements to enhance system efficiency, security, and DevSecOps integrationBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Successfully completed a Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years or agreed to enter a Continuous Vetting program such that 5 year updates are no longer required5+ years of experience with Operating systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Enterprise Linux or SUSE Linux5+ years of experience using PowerShell, Bash, and Python3+ years of experience with cloud computing and/or virtualization technologies (Splunk, VMware)Experience with configuration managementExperience with networks and network communication protocolPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Active certifications in Cloud, INFOSEC, etc.Experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadershipExperience with automation tools (i.e. Ansible)Experience with Windows support and administration in an Active Directory environmentExperience implementing and managing Containerized systemsExperience with security and vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., ACAS/Nessus, STIG’s, SCC)Experience maintaining enterprise-wide storage and network infrastructureDrug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits:At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
