Housekeeping at Luxury Campground Seasonal

IntroThe Desert of Maine is an iconic destination located in Freeport, Maine going through a total reboot under new ownership. After an incredible 2022 season that included opening our new mini golf course, new A-Frame cabins in our campground, and an overhaul of our operations, we are heading into our 2023 season with even more exciting new exhibits, features, and more new cabins for our campers! We are seeking a team of experienced housekeeping staff who can commit to our entire season, from May through October to help us deliver a world-class experience for our visitors.Our housekeeping staff will carry out morning and midday cleaning and cabin turnovers for our luxurious campground. We want our campground guests to have the best possible camping experience, therefore our standards of cleanliness are high! The role consists of a daily morning and midday cleaning of our bath house to ensure it is gleaming, as well as a midday turnover of our cabins (14 total), and glamping tents, (8 total) after guests check out and before next guests arrive.The RoleReporting to the Owner, our Housekeeping Staff are responsible for ensuring that our cabins and campground bath house are clean and sanitary for our guests. Housekeeping staff work on teams each day to complete cabin and tent turnovers as well as bath house cleaning.Scrub sinks, showers, and toilets in cabins and bath houseChange bed linens and towels and gather used linens for launderingClean room furniture, floors, windows, mirrors, and counters in cabins and bath houseCollect trash and recycling from cabins, tents, and bath house and dispose of it in dumpstersReplace soap and toilet paper and other supplies as needed in cabins and bath houseMake sure cabins and glamping tents are stocked with coffee, tea, sweeteners, and creamers or guests to enjoyKeep all public spaces neat and tidyQualificationsExperience in residential or commercial cleaning is strongly preferredStrong attention to detail, reliable, and excellent time management skillsExperience working both independently and in a team environmentGreat customer service, communication, and a self-motivated attitudeA long history of over-achievement and consistent personal growth throughout your entire school and work historyA burning desire to make an impact at a mission-driven organization. It may alternate between being exhilarating and a little overwhelming, but the right candidate will relish the challenge.Reliable transportation required.Other InformationThis is a part time position from now through October, with a Sunday-Tuesday schedule, with the option to pick up additional shifts as available. The hourly rate will be $20 per hour, with guest tips as additional wages. Access to reliable transportation is required. As part of the housekeeping team, we need someone who can operate a small golf cart EV, lift at least 30 lbs, and perform tasks which involve reaching, bending, stretching, and walking across parts of the property. Housekeeping staff work primarily in the campground where guests are present, therefore staff in this role are expected to interact with the public in a professional manner, answer questions, or direct visitors to helpful resources.Option to take on additional hours in other roles, such as train driver.The Desert of Maine is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
