Salary: $28.53 - $37.09 HourlyLocation : Municipal Operations Center - Middleton, WIJob Type: Regular, Full-Time PermanentJob Number: 2026-00005Department: Storm Water UtilityOpening Date: 03/18/2026Closing Date: 3/29/2026 11:59 PM CentralFLSA: Non-ExemptBargaining Unit: NRGeneral DescriptionUnder the direct supervision of the Stormwater Utility Foreman, the Stormwater Crew Member is responsible for performing general construction, maintenance and improvement work on the City of Middleton's stormwater infrastructure. This includes opening waterways, and repairing pipes and storm structure. The Stormwater Crew Member also assists with mowing, street sweeping, and leaf collection as needed.Job FunctionsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential duties are not necessarily listed in priority order.Completes routine and corrective maintenance of the City's stormwater infrastructure, including storm sewers, culverts, ditches, inlets, outlets, and drainage structures.Opens, clears, and maintains waterways to ensure proper drainage and stormwater flow.Repairs and replaces stormwater pipes, structures, and related infrastructure using hand tools, powers tools, and other equipment needed.Operates heavy equipment such as street sweepers, dump trucks, front-end loaders, and skid steers.Maintains equipment assigned to the Stormwater Utility. Completes minor repairs as needed.Utilizes GIS software to collect information and enter data.Coordinates work with ongoing projects such as subdivision development, road projects, and pond restoration.Completes special projects and other job duties as assigned or required.Qualifications and CompetenciesMinimum Education and ExperienceThe requirements listed below are necessary to perform the essential duties of the positionHigh School Diploma or equivalent is requiredA minimum of one (1) year of experience in stormwater infrastructure, utility maintenance, construction maintenance, or a closely related field is requiredPossess a valid state-issued Driver's LicensePossess or obtain within six (6) months of hire, a State of Wisconsin Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Tanker Endorsement.Other QualificationsThe qualifications listed below are preferred, but not required to perform the essential duties of the position. Availability for after-hours, weekends, and emergency work is required, particularly in response to public works emergencies and inclement weather conditionsWork is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, with possible exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and other environmental factors.
