Our mission is to support founders building market-defining businesses “between the coasts” and to play an active role in shaping the ecosystems where they operate.About the RoleWe’re hiring an Investor Relations Associate to help scale and evolve how Drive builds relationships with institutional investors (Limited Partners).This is a hands-on, execution-oriented role for someone early in their career who is excited to operate at the intersection of venture capital and fundraising. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to expand our LP network, increase investor engagement, and support the firm’s capital formation efforts.You’ll start by building pipeline and driving investor engagement – and over time, take on increasing ownership of relationships and fundraising outcomes. For someone looking to build a long-term career in investor relations or venture, this is a rare opportunity to learn the craft directly from experienced operators while developing the foundation to run a territory and own outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestor Pipeline DevelopmentBuild and maintain a pipeline of institutional investors, including public pensions, healthcare systems, endowments, and foundationsResearch and map key markets to identify relevant organizations and decision-makersSupport outbound outreach efforts to initiate new LP relationshipsInvestor Engagement & Fundraising SupportOwn the day-to-day cadence of LP engagement – scheduling, email follow-ups, and roadshow logistics – so senior leadership stays focused on the highest-value conversationsPartner with senior leadership to prepare for and execute investor meetings, including travel into core markets (~3 weeks/month) as you take on more direct LP exposure over timeSit in on investor meetings, drive post-meeting follow-through, and grow into leading LP conversations of your ownHelp move prospective investors through the fundraising processRelationship DevelopmentBuild, foster, and mature relationships with LPs over time through consistent, thoughtful follow-upDevelop a strong command of Drive’s investment thesis, portfolio, and performance – and how to communicate it credibly to sophisticated allocatorsLearn to identify high-potential relationships and areas to deepen coverage over timeOperations & CoordinationMaintain CRM systems with a high level of accuracy and organizationTrack pipeline activity, meeting volume, and engagement metricsCoordinate investor materials, communications, and roadshow logistics end-to-endWho You AreA builder, not a rolodex – you’re energized by opening doors from scratch and maturing LP relationships over yearsStrong executive presence – you’re comfortable representing the firm in high-visibility settings and can hold your own in a room with a junior associate or a CIO from day oneUtility-player, athlete mentality – multi-purpose, competitive, and energized by keeping multiple balls in the air; former competitive athletes often thrive hereHungry and humble – no job is below you; you’d rather earn the next opportunity than be handed itHighly motivated and resilient – you’re comfortable in a role that requires persistence and consistencyDetail-oriented and organized – you can manage a high volume of activity, tight cadences, and complex travel without dropping the ballCurious about venture capital, institutional investors, and how capital flowsPreferred Experience1-3 years of experience in investor relations, capital intro/placement, capital formation, investment banking, asset management, or a client-facing role at an expert networkExperience at a top-tier financial institution – including bank analyst or associate programs – with exposure to institutional investors is a strong plusPrior IR experience at a private investment firm (e.g., a mid-sized real estate, credit, or PE fund) is a strong plusBackground in highly competitive environments (e.g., collegiate or professional athletics, top-tier sales orgs) is a meaningful plusThe target salary range for this role is $100,000-$150,000. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, which includes health/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), unlimited PTO and other offerings. You may also be eligible for incremental performance-based incentives and equity compensation in the form of carried interest.
