School Bus DriverCommunity Unit School District 308 (SD308) is seeking qualified candidates to become school bus drivers for the district. Start/end times vary based on routes. Compensation is $24.00 per hour. The rate of pay could be adjusted up to compensate for experience. Monthly attendance bonus and longevity bonus are also available. The hourly rate of pay is inclusive of the mandatory 4.5% retirement contribution to the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF). SD 308 also provides a deductible reimbursement program for medical expenses (excluding ER services), when an employee is enrolled in our PPO plan and uses our RUSH Healthcare reimbursement program.Paid time off includes paid holidays, paid sick days, paid personal days, and paid bereavement days. This position is represented by the Oswego Transportation Association (OTA).Qualifications include being 21 years of age (or older) with a high school diploma or equivalent. Skills necessary to operate a school bus safely, communicate effectively, follow determined schedules, handle emergency situations, evaluations and administer first aid. Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug, alcohol, background and TB testing. Exceptional driving record. Knowledge of or ability to learn safety.Performance responsibilities include operating the school bus safely while managing and caring for students, learning and adapting to each student's medical, physical, communicative and emotional needs, serving as a role model demonstrating positive attitude and self-control, protecting the confidentiality of student records and information, and securing students who use child safety restraint systems.
