A dynamic and growing organization in the transportation industry is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its high-performing Finance & Accounting team in Houston, TX.About the RoleAs a Senior Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic decision-making across multiple business units. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position offers the opportunity to work on complex accounting functions, tax compliance, and financial analysis in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close deliverablesSupport financial statement preparation and external audit requestsConduct variance and flux analysis for financial reviewsManage and assist with tax filings (property, sales/use, etc.) and complianceMaintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules and depreciationDocument and improve accounting processes and internal controlsMentor junior accounting staff and contribute to team developmentLeverage accounting systems to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiencyMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field4+ years of progressive experience Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controlsEmployment Type: Full TimeIf you’re interested in the Senior Accountant position and are available to work in the Houston area, apply now by sending your resume to aaron.vizcaino@lhh.com.
