Jenks Public Schools Job Description Position: Automotive MechanicReports to: Automotive Mechanic Foreperson/CoordinatorSupervises: NoneQualifications:High School diploma or GED required.Valid State School bus certification and all health and employment standards required.Technical training and/or appropriate years experience set by Board.Commercial Drivers License required (will train).Good aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.Position Goal: To keep all district vehicles and buses in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the educational program.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Diagnose and repair district buses and automotive fleet.Knowledge of major repair to buses and all district automotive fleet, including gasoline and diesel overhaul, transmissions, workbench overhaul, and welding.Proficiency and qualification to operate all buses, support, and service vehicles.Uses preventive maintenance to all automotive fleet and shop equipment, maintaining a high quality of workmanship, safety standards, good housekeeping, and a cooperative attitude with co-workers.Drive bus route, as necessary.Perform all other duties as assigned.Employment Terms: Twelve (12) month classified hourly contractFLSA Qualification: Non-ExemptEvaluation: Jenks Public Schools Classified EvaluationPhysical Demands:This is an overview intended for compliance with the ADA - it is not an exhaustive list of the duties to be performed.
