GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESActing product manager to a major component of a proprietary finance platform, of which the below responsibilities are with respectCreates and maintains a strategy that is aligned to the goals of sponsorsExercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of informationFinds balance between larger strategic initiatives and smaller high-value requestsAccountable to a refined product backlog of prioritized developmentDaily oversight of product development including but not limited toRequirements are documented clearly and understood by all relevant partiesTest plans are thoroughValidation and feedback through testing is timelyThe team understands the goal and value of each development itemPerforms risk assessment of development solutions to determine appropriate testing strategyAccountable to training as deemed required of new technology solutions for both internal and external usersParticipate in discovery sessions with new clients to determine impact to development scopeOversee migrations to new technology including but not limited toTraining business users on new technologyEstablish a roadmap of migrationsOversee execution of migrationPut forward development requests to expedite migrationsIncorporate feedback of new technology from early adoptersIs aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the marketTakes a new perspective on existing solutionsCollaborate directly with project managers, agile managers and scrum masters on milestones of both short-term (e.g. end of day milestone) and long-term (e.g. release milestone)KNOWLEDGE/SKILLSExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills ("solutions-oriented" mindset)Strong organizational and prioritization skillsClient relationship focused (internal and external relationships)Is experimental and embraces continuous improvementExplains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensusFlexible and adaptable to change; capable of being a 'change agent' to identify and drive productivity transformationUsage of workflow tools like Jira or AzureKnowledge of software development life cycle and common frameworks (scrum, kanban, waterfall)Qualifications:EXPERIENCEMust have at least one of the below, multiple is preferredKey member of an agile transition in an organizationKey member of a major client onboarding (multiple over career preferred)Key approver of new software delivered to production (i.e. understands the system well enough to approve test plans)Acting product owner of a component of technology at your organizationDriver of technology solutions to solve complex problemsExtensive experience working with colleagues outside reporting linesExperience with Investment Management and/or Financial ServicesAlternative Asset Management specific strongly encouragedHas mentored and trained multiple colleagues to be technically proficientA College or University degree and relevant proven work experienceCertifications are a plusAgile (product owner, scrum master, etc.)MBA, CPA, CFA
