Credit Underwriter I
Overview:
We are looking for the right candidate to support our application process, including merchant submissions and partner relationships. This position will act as a liaison with our customers and internal stakeholders to support a smooth and efficient application process and will have a unique opportunity to learn and grow with the business.
Duties:
Act as the main point of contact and support for internal stakeholders, bank contacts, and other industry partners
Review and process merchant applications for placement with banking partners, analyzing according to internal policy and standard industry practices
Maintain and develop banking and agent relationships to drive future growth
Manage and monitor the flow of incoming merchant applications to ensure timely and sound credit decisions.
Ensure data integrity within CRM and document repositories.
Ensure effective communication on pending applications and application decisions with RM, Sales, and leadership teams.
Update notes on all pending investigations, reviews and credit limit approvals.
Obtain and evaluate credit ratings from credit bureaus, banks and trades on applications.
File documents and files from the Credit Department and ensure proper accessibility of documentation.
Review and and interpret credit reports, Balance Sheets, Profit/Loss Statements, D&B reports, Tax Returns and Consolidated Financial Audit Reports
Create and review Executive Summaries as needed, provide financial analysis and utilize various financial calculations such as EBITDA, Total Exposure, Total Assets, Total Liabilities, Tangible Net Worth, Leverage Ratio and Interest Coverage.
Support relationships with merchant account maintenance, account updates, etc.
Data entry into multiple systems
Organize application documentation and provide detailed application tracking
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong typing skills and familiarity with Excel
Ability to develop strong client relationships
Merchant service industry experience preferred but not required
Microsoft Office suite
