Medical Assistant

Under the direction of the clinic supervisor, the medical assistant is responsible for the receiving of patients, preparing the patients to be seen by the provider, and assisting the provider as requested in the delivery of care to the patient. The medical assistant works with patients and is knowledgeable with regard to the clinic’s patient education program and provides educational materials to the patient when appropriate. The medical assistant is also responsible for the maintenance of supplies and equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare patient exam rooms and equipment using aseptic and sterile techniquesEscort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs and brief medical historiesPerform clinical procedures including immunizations, injections, venipuncture, and urinalysisAssist providers during patient exams and proceduresGreet and register patients, manage referrals and authorizationsSchedule appointments and ancillary tests accuratelyAnswer and route incoming phone calls, taking and distributing messagesMaintain clean, stocked, and organized exam roomsQualificationsMedical Assistant degree/diploma (160 hour completed externship required if no experience) and Medical Assistant Certification. 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant if not actively certifiedEMR experienceStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environmentWork EnvironmentThis position is onsite Monday-Friday, typically 8am to 5pmJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Menomonee Falls, WI.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.50/hr.RequirementsEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
