Procurement and Planning Manager

Overview:Industry leader in the transportation space, is looking for a Procurement and Planning Manager to oversee the strategic sourcing of materials and services, managing supplier relationships, and ensure efficient planning and inventory control.To note: this role is a mostly on-site role in the Germantown, MD, Area and does require the candidate to be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder). Relocation can be provided for those outside of the Washington DC Metro. ResponsibilitiesSupervise, develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and planning staff.Lead the fulfillment team in material delivery and supply needs. Drive to improve on-time delivery, material availability, reduce late purchase orders and oversee all purchase order management.Report on KPIs such as cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory turnover.Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms while managing supplier performance, contracts and compliance.Collaborate with finance and legal teams on procurement policies and risk mitigation while monitoring market trends and identifying opportunities for cost savings.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field or 4-6 years of related experience.3+ years of experience in the following disciplines procurement, inventory management, and planning (ideally in a manufacturing environment).Strong negotiation, analytical, project management skills and familiarity with global sourcing and logistics.Ability to effectively manage and resolve changing and conflicting priorities appropriately.High level of proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Excel, PPT, Word, creating pivot tables, VLookups etc.)Proven track record of team management and development preferred.Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).Certification in supply chain i.e. APICS, CPM, CPSM (preferred).Next Steps:Do you want to work with an industry leader driving their procurement and planning?
