Platform Engineer, Principal

OverviewWe are partnering with a reputable healthcare system to hire for The Developer & Employee Experience Team, enabling the client’s journey to the cloud. The Platform Engineer, Principal, will report to the Sr. Manager of Technical Engineering. In this role you will design, build, and maintain the Internal Developer Platform, enabling operational excellence for the client, their trading partners, and provider networks. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking organization’s journey to the cloud.ResponsibilitiesArchitect, design, deploy, and support our provider agnostic Cloud Enablement Developer Platform, actively contributing to the achievement of our future state goals and ensuring current success and operational excellenceHelp to establish, operate, and continuously improve within a GitOps framework, leveraging your expertise to accelerate capabilities and practices for the product, team, department, and our partners across the organizationDesign, develop, and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Ansible to automate Azure cloud environments, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and other cloud servicesPrepare and maintain detailed system diagrams and technical documentation and specifications as required and necessary to ensure and maintain consistently exceptional quality in the clients’ operationsWork closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, development, and operations, to integrate Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices into the software development lifecycle and ensure seamless infrastructure changesAnalyze all aspects of business unit functions to determine the design, application, integration and optimal use of information systemsDesign and develop approaches that are implemented by others, influencing leadership across multiple lines of business in service of achieving the organization’s goalsConsult, guide, and assist users, developers, analysts, and leaders across all levels of the organization in leveraging the Platform’s capabilities to solve business problemsServe as a thought leader, actively contributing to the ultimate success of the client’s journey to the cloudLead and assist in ensuring compliance with solutions and the security of company data and assetsIdentify opportunities and areas of improvement for active and potential use cases for the Platform, inclusive of business development opportunitiesQualificationsRequires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Requires at least 10 years of professional experience serving as a technical expert and thought leader in enterprise Platform design, development, and maintenanceRequires hands-on experience with cloud migrations in a heavily regulated, DevOps environmentRequires hands-on experience with Ansible to automate Azure cloudRequires proficiency in at least one relevant programming language (Python, C#, Java, Jython, etc.)Requires in-depth knowledge of multiple cloud hosting providers, including Microsoft Azure and AWSRequires current AZ-400 and AZ-900 Certification or equivalent knowledgeRequires current RedHat DO-467 Certification or equivalent knowledgeKubernetes experience strongly desiredAdditional Cloud Hosting Provider certifications are strongly preferredExperience working in an agile development environment is strongly desiredExperience working remotely is strongly desired*Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship*We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
