NetSuite Subject Matter Expert Senior Functional / Techno-Functional ConsultantLocation: Remote / Hybrid (U.S.) Engagement: Full-time Experience Level: Senior (8+ years) Travel: Up to 20% as required by client engagementsPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced NetSuite Subject Matter Expert (SME) to serve as the principal functional and technical authority on Oracle NetSuite across implementation, optimization, and managed-services engagements. The SME will partner with finance, operations, and IT stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable NetSuite solutions spanning Financials, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Inventory, and adjacent modules. This is a hands-on role for a practitioner who is equally comfortable leading a design workshop, configuring the platform, and troubleshooting production issues.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end NetSuite implementations and module rollouts, including discovery, fit-gap analysis, solution design, configuration, testing, training, and hypercare.Serve as the design authority for core NetSuite modules — General Ledger, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Revenue Recognition (ARM), Multi-Book Accounting, SuiteBilling, Inventory, and Advanced Order Management.Translate business requirements into functional specifications, process flows, and configuration documentation aligned with leading practices.Configure forms, fields, records, workflows (SuiteFlow), saved searches, dashboards, KPIs, and role-based permissions.Partner with developers on SuiteScript (1.0/2.x), SuiteTalk (REST/SOAP), SuiteAnalytics, and SuiteBundler customizations; review technical designs and code for alignment with functional intent.Lead data migration strategy and execution: data mapping, cleansing, CSV imports, ETL coordination, and reconciliation.Own integration design with adjacent platforms (Salesforce, Coupa, Concur, ADP/UKG, Avalara, Shopify, EDI, Boomi/Celigo/MuleSoft).Drive month-end close optimization, audit readiness (SOX, ASC 606), and multi-subsidiary / multi-currency / OneWorld considerations.Provide L3 production support, root-cause analysis, and continuous-improvement recommendations for existing NetSuite environments.Mentor functional consultants and analysts; conduct internal enablement on new NetSuite releases and SuiteCloud features.Act as a trusted advisor to executive sponsors, presenting recommendations, risks, and trade-offs in business terms.Required Qualifications8+ years of hands-on NetSuite experience, including a minimum of 3 full-lifecycle implementations in a lead functional or techno-functional capacity.Deep functional expertise across NetSuite Financials and at least two of: SuiteBilling, ARM (Revenue Management), Advanced Inventory, Manufacturing, Fixed Assets, or OneWorld.Demonstrated ability to design, configure, and deploy SuiteFlow workflows, custom records, custom segments, saved searches, and SuiteAnalytics workbooks.Working proficiency with SuiteScript 2.x (read/debug at minimum; ability to author client and user-event scripts strongly preferred).Experience integrating NetSuite with at least one major adjacent system (CRM, HRIS, procurement, e-commerce, tax engine, or middleware).Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, multi-entity consolidation, intercompany accounting, and revenue recognition under ASC 606.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to facilitate workshops and present to executive audiences.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.Preferred QualificationsNetSuite certifications: SuiteFoundation, ERP Consultant, Administrator, Financial User, or SuiteAnalytics User.Experience with Celigo, Boomi, or MuleSoft for NetSuite integrations.Prior consulting experience at a NetSuite Alliance Partner or Solution Provider.Industry depth in SaaS / subscription, manufacturing, wholesale distribution, or professional services.Familiarity with SOC 1/SOC 2 and SOX ITGC requirements as they apply to NetSuite environments.CPA, CMA, or PMP designation.What You'll BringA consultative mindset — you ask the second and third question, not just the first.Comfort operating across the functional/technical boundary and translating between business and engineering audiences.Strong judgment on when to configure versus customize, and a bias toward maintainable, upgrade-safe solutions.Ownership of outcomes from kickoff through go-live and beyond.
