Are you interested in becoming a part of an innovative in-house maintenance facility working in our paint department on private aircraft?Flexjet, an award-winning organization, is currently looking for an experienced Paint Technician to join our team!This position is located in Sanford, Florida.Duties & ResponsibilitiesStrong buffing and polishing skillsAbility to spray a variety of paints and finishesSelects finish ingredients and mixes them by hand or machine to obtain specified color or shade to specifications or match existing finishCalculates mix ratios in order to mix sealant, filler materials, and paintMust have experience cutting and buffing polyesters, urethanes, Imron and acrylic clear coatsApplies primer, top coat paint, and any spray-applied coatings to detailed parts, sub-assemblies and major assemblies of aircraft interiors to customer or company specifications and industry quality standardsPolishes and waxes finished surfaces by cutting and buffing finished surfacesDemonstrate competency in applying the following to perform normal job dutiesFamiliar with and have operational knowledge of department toolsPerforms moderately complex to complex filling operations related to the cosmetic appearance of the part being workedRemoves excess material and prepares the surface for finishingPerforms difficult masking operationsDocuments the work performed on the work ordersSeeks methods to cross train to develop technical skills and business knowledgeAssist aircraft technicians when necessaryEnsure functional tests of all installed items is satisfactoryPerforms other duties as requiredRequired SkillsHigh school or GEDMinimum five (5) years of touch up/color matching experienceAutomotive refinishing experience desired, aircraft painting experience a plusRequires excellent communication skillsAbility to work in a team environmentMust be flexible with shift workAbility to pass background check and achieve airport badgeWORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions.
