**Job Duties/Scope Of Work** Provide advanced and wide-ranging technical, operational, and regulatory guidance and oversight on company's Radiological Protection issues under consultative direction. Offer leadership, oversight, and technical guidance on complex radiation protection issues with Division, Site-wide, or DOE complex-wide implications. Apply sophisticated radiological engineering and health physics principles for multiple new, complex facilities/projects. Perform assessments, calculations, and/or monitoring to determine proper radiological controls and shielding to meet or exceed company/regulatory standards, while considering economic impacts. Prepare Radiological Design Summary Reports (RDSR) for all new complex radiological designs and modifications per company procedure. Manage, track, estimate, and communicate changes to assigned schedule. Verify, test, and check peers' calculations for validity. Provide briefings, presentations, technical papers, reports, and memoranda to customers and internal/external stakeholders. Review and approve design drawings to ensure verified calculations are included. Perform field walk downs to ensure implementations are performed according to calculated design. Function as lead or Subject Matter Expert within radiological task teams, technical committees, and project design teams. Develop, review, and approve radiological work planning documents and technical basis documents. Demonstrate site/complex-wide knowledge and experience; represent the company in technical exchanges with other DOE sites and commercial industries. Lead and participate in hazard assessments for new designs and projects; conduct engineering evaluations concerning shielding. Incorporate innovation and ingenuity in problem solving for cost reduction or improvement. Mentor less experienced professionals within the discipline by developing and coordinating work activities. Develop and oversee technical procedures providing adequate radiation protection for personnel working within radiological environments. Identify, evaluate, and incorporate applicable industry innovations and regulatory changes into the company's Radiological Protection program and procedures. Provide oversight of technical basis manuals and procedures. Assume staff leadership responsibilities or administrative duties as assigned by supervision.
