Account Manager in Training - Commercial Development Program (CDP)

Palmer Holland's Commercial Development Program spans 12-18 months and is designed to accelerate your professional career. This hybrid (2 days remote, 3 days in office) role offers a comprehensive learning experience, allowing employees to gain a deep understanding of our business and its various facets. Our experienced employees serve as mentors, providing guidance and support every step of the way. The Commercial Development Program sets our employees up for success by exposing them to different sales areas within Palmer Holland. Through this program, you will learn how to sell our products, gain customer-facing experience, and set yourself up to advance your career as an owner at Palmer Holland.ResponsibilitiesPerform assigned duties under the direction of experienced personnel to gain the knowledge and experience required to transition to an Account Manager positionAttend and participate in Account Manager Training Program under the supervision of the Sales Manager to obtain an understanding and functional knowledge of the Account Manager role. Receive systems, process, product, and sales training as defined in the programObserve experienced Account Managers to acquire knowledge of sales call types and selling techniques tipsParticipate in training exercises including, but not limited to, Sales Training, Product Training, Computer Training, and Operations TrainingWhile under the supervision of the Sales and/or Regional Sales Manager, learn how to effectively communicate, influence, and interact with all types of customers and Principals. This training phase focuses on proper sales techniques, problem-solving, and consulting-style sales approaches. Conduct face-to-face client meetings, with the support of your manager, learning to gather pertinent information and educate clients about fundamental business issuesLearn to analyze clients' purchasing information to understand buying trends. Maintain and actively service existing customers assigned to a specific sales region by performing various duties, including areas such as product quotation and problem resolutionCapture new business opportunities within current customers through numerous strategies, such as new product introduction or Opportunity Management utilizing our proprietary CRMLearn to understand territory gross profit reports and analyze sales trends using Microsoft ExcelBuild business contacts by contacting and meeting with warm referrals, developing new business, and maintaining current relationshipsLearn to develop and assist in sales plans, sales strategy, and documenting sales activities through visit reportsRead and understand technical and non-technical documents related to the sales of and contracts for the company's productsAbove all, the primary responsibility is to learn how to generate sales for Palmer HollandRequirementsLocation: Must be willing to relocate.Knowledge/SkillsKnowledge and understanding of salesAbility to interface with both technical and non-technical personnelProficient in Microsoft ExcelIntermediate level of expertise in MS Office and Contact Management SoftwareExcellent verbal and written communication abilitiesAbility to maintain professional conduct that consistently exemplifies the corporate policies, particularly when interacting directly with internal and external customersAbility to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretionExhibit a 'Learners Attitude" by being open and willing to expand knowledge and expertiseProactive problem solver
