Senior Electrical Project Engineer

The Senior Electrical Project Engineer leads the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical power and control systems. This role serves as a technical authority for electrical system architecture, ensuring designs meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, budget constraints, and project schedules while supporting high-value engineering projects.Detailed DescriptionLead the design and development of electrical power and control systems including switchgear, drives, MCCs, control panels, and substationsPerform advanced electrical engineering analyses such as load flow, short circuit, and system coordination studiesServe as technical lead for electrical system architecture, equipment selection, and design decisionsEnsure all electrical designs comply with applicable codes, standards (NEC, IEEE, etc.), and customer specificationsDevelop detailed engineering deliverables including schematics, single-line diagrams, bills of material, and testing documentationReview and validate electrical equipment selections for performance, compatibility, and application suitabilityCollaborate with Project Engineers, Procurement, and Operations to ensure technical alignment from design through executionProvide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineersLead Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), commissioning activities, and troubleshooting of complex electrical systemsManage project scope, budgets, and schedules with accountability for engineering deliverablesSupport cross-functional teams with technical input and documentationPromote a collaborative, team-oriented environment aligned with company culturePerform other related duties as assignedJob RequirementsStrong expertise in electrical power system design and equipment integrationAdvanced understanding of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systemsProficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and electrical engineering analysis toolsAbility to develop, read, and interpret complex electrical schematics and system designsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsEffective communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environmentsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldMinimum of five years of hands-on electrical power system design experienceDemonstrated experience with switchgear, MCCs, drives, and control systemsPreferred CertificationsSeven or more years of experience in electrical system design and project executionExperience designing integrated electrical systems for industrial, drilling, or energy applicationsProven experience acting as a technical lead or subject matter expert on complex projectsExperience with vendor coordination and electrical package specificationAdditional DetailsThis position is primarily office-based with occasional visits to shop or fabrication areas. The role involves regular sitting, standing, and computer use. Minimal exposure to physical hazards is expected, and adherence to PPE and safety requirements is required when in operational areas.
