Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor

Integrated Dx is seeking a Phlebotomist/Specimen Collector for our Hazard, KY location. This position requires availability Monday-Friday. This position is responsible for the following: - Collects patient samples via urine cup collection, or other manner via established lab protocol - Must perform phlebotomy - Disposes of biomedical waste according to state standards - Utilizes personal protective equipment as needed - Works within safety policies and procedures defined by lab protocol - Maintains the collection space in a safe and clean manner - Interacts in a professional and courteous manner with patients and clients at all times - Provides patient with preparation and collection instructions for lab testing - Helpful to patients and clients in answering questions and follow-ups as necessary - Maintains patient confidentiality at all times - Follows the physician’s orders when ordering tests - Verifies insurance and correctly enters into the system - Ensures that the specimen meets sample requirements for in-house testing as well as testing sent to reference labs - Ensures that lab test requisitions are accurately completed and follows-up for additional information if needed - Orders tests in the LIS accurately and in a timely manner - Checks sample label before placing bar code label on the sample, ensuring positive identification - Properly processes the samples and maintains specimen integrity at all times Skills - Excellent customer service skills - Proficient in Microsoft word - Proficient in Data Entry Job Type: Full-Time Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
