The Seasonal Operations Worker plays a vital role in keeping Champaign's parks, athletic fields, and outdoor spaces safe, clean, and enjoyable for the community. From maintaining grounds to supporting athletic field operations, this position offers active, meaningful work that directly impacts the quality of life for residents and visitors.Summary of Responsibilities Perform outdoor maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, edging, trash removal, and facility cleaningOperate and maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment such as mowers, tractors, trimmers, and hand toolsAssist with athletic field preparation and maintenance (lining fields, repairing turf, installing/removing fencing, drying fields after rain)Complete minor repairs and assist skilled maintenance tasks (carpentry, plumbing, painting, custodial work, and more)Install sod, prepare seeding areas, and maintain curbs, sidewalks, and park amenitiesInspect facilities, equipment, and grounds daily and report issues to supervisorsInteract professionally with the public and provide basic information when neededFollow all safety policies and Park District proceduresWork flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as assignedWhy Work With Us?
