Also Fiscal Experience is a hug plus for this role.We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst with expertise in Business Process Reengineering (BPR) to support a high-visibility consulting project with a major California state agency. The ideal candidate will have strong experience mapping business processes, developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and producing client-ready deliverables. This role requires excellent Visio skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create job aid content similar to technical writing. The ideal candidate will also have experience in software development projects and understand how to translate technical requirements into business process documentation. This position requires experience working on state projects and will be based in Sacramento, CA.Key Responsibilities:Business Process Mapping: Lead the effort to map and document current and future-state business processes, utilizing Visio to create clear, detailed process flow diagrams.Business Process Reengineering (BPR): Collaborate with project teams to evaluate and redesign existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.Software Development Projects: Assist in documenting and refining business requirements for software development projects. Collaborate with development teams to ensure processes align with technical specifications.Client Deliverables: Produce high-quality deliverables, including process documentation, reports, and presentations, tailored for both internal teams and external clients.SOP/Procedure Development: Develop clear and concise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and process documentation to ensure smooth implementation and consistent operations.Job Aid Creation: Develop detailed job aids, user manuals, and training materials that are easy to understand and facilitate successful user adoption.State Project Experience: Demonstrate experience with state government projects, particularly in the public sector or related to government modernization efforts.Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, and subject matter experts, to ensure project objectives are met and client expectations are exceeded.Attention to Detail: Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all project documentation and deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity.Qualifications:Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Process Improvement Specialist, with a focus on Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and experience in software development projects.Visio Expertise: Advanced skills in Visio for creating detailed process flow diagrams and documenting business processes.Technical Writing: Strong experience in creating technical documents, including SOPs, job aids, and user guides.Software Development Projects: Experience in supporting software development efforts, including gathering and documenting business requirements, and ensuring alignment between technical and business teams.State Project Experience: Proven experience working on state government projects, preferably in California, or in highly regulated environments.Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all deliverables.Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Education: A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
