This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the food service industry.Essential FunctionsResponsible for establishing contact with existing customers, identifying new opportunities, and following up on potential leadsPlay a key role in increasing income and revenue by managing and negotiating with clients, generating leads, qualifying prospects and managing sales of products and servicesEvaluate customers skills and needs to build productive, long-lasting relationshipsUtilize all available resources to contact prospective clients and attempt to turn those prospects into customersDaily travel to visit new and existing customersProvide customer support by responding to customer inquiries and requestsPartner with current customers to ascertain current needs and generate additional salesExecute timely preparing of all expense reports, call reports and assigned projectsResearch the commercial foodservice marketplace through published lists, local sources, or through independent research for potential business opportunities, and telemarking as neededMaintain current knowledge of product and pricing on all inventory, and a design sense of how to create merchandising solutions that meet customer needs by utilizing current inventoryHigh quality organization skills focused on maintaining email databases and sales materialsStrong follow-up orientation to ensure successful implementation of the business initiativesWork under time sensitive situations (time deadlines, delivery and pick-up schedules); able to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentKeep management and sales team members informed of all relevant activity Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma requiredComputer proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher)Strong administrative and organization skillsEffective project management skillsSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, energetic, personable, presentable, and articulateMust have reliable transportation to travel to the surrounding areasAll employees must be able to pass our drug screen and MVR record checkThe above job description is designed to give an overview of the tasks and responsibilities for this position.
