This role requires expertise in AI policy development, application governance, and security oversight, with a focus on ensuring responsible AI deployment in mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate will combine policy acumen with technical understanding to bridge governance requirements with practical implementation.ResponsibilitiesSupport development and implementation of AI governance policies and proceduresEstablish and maintain AI application governance requirements and standardsCollaborate with engineering and cybersecurity teams to implement AI guardrails and controlsDevelop middleware solutions to enforce AI governance policies and safety controlsConduct AI application assessments and compliance reviewsMonitor AI systems for adherence to governance frameworks and security standardsDocument AI use cases, risk assessments, and governance decisionsSupport AI vendor evaluation and third-party AI tool governanceMaintain awareness of evolving AI regulations, standards, and best practicesContribute to AI risk management and incident response proceduresDevelop training materials and guidance on AI governance requirementsParticipate in cross-functional teams to integrate governance into AI development lifecycleRequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Policy, or related field10 years of experience in AI/ML governance, technology policy, or related fieldStrong understanding of AI technologies, capabilities, and limitationsExperience with policy development and implementationSoftware development or scripting experience (Python, JavaScript, or similar)Knowledge of AI security principles and threat landscapeAbility to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholdersActive Secret Clearance RequiredDoD 8570 Level II/III certification RequiredDesired QualificationsExperience with NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF)Familiarity with DoD AI governance requirements and policiesExperience conducting technical audits or assessmentsUnderstanding of AI model architectures and development processesExperience with AI/ML frameworks and tools (TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, etc.)Knowledge of responsible AI principles and ethics frameworksExperience with cloud AI services (AWS, Azure, GCP)Background in cybersecurity or risk managementExperience developing governance automation tools or middlewareFamiliarity with data governance and privacy regulationsTechnical SkillsAI governance frameworks (NIST AI RMF, responsible AI principles)Software development (Python, scripting, API integration)AI security and safety controlsPolicy development and compliance managementAI application assessment and risk evaluationDocumentation and technical writingCollaboration tools and project managementIPTA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
