About the Role
We are seeking a Structural Engineer – Industrial to support structural design efforts for capital equipment installations and industrial infrastructure projects.
This role focuses on the structural analysis and design of equipment support structures, mezzanines, platforms, pipe racks, and related steel systems within active manufacturing environments.
The ideal candidate has experience designing steel structures in industrial settings and is comfortable developing calculations, producing drawing packages, and supporting field execution.
This is not a commercial building design role. Experience supporting industrial equipment and process systems is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis and design for equipment mezzanines, platforms, pipe racks, and support structures
Develop structural calculation packages in accordance with applicable codes
Design steel systems supporting process and production equipment
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, controls, and fabrication teams
Conduct field verification and site measurements in active manufacturing facilities
Review shop drawings and connection details
Support installation and resolve field issues
Assist with scope development and project estimating
Support multiple projects and meet schedule commitments
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
5+ years of structural engineering experience
Working knowledge of applicable structural codes (IBC, AISC, etc.)
Experience performing structural calculations and analysis
Industrial or manufacturing experience strongly preferred
PE license preferred (or on track to obtain)
Familiarity with structural analysis software
Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks helpful
Ability to work independently and support field work
Full‑time position
Based out of our Valley View, Ohio office
Field work at client sites throughout Northeast Ohio
Some work‑from‑home flexibility available
Salary range: $95,000 – $125,000 , commensurate with experience
