Sourcing AgentThe Sourcing Agent is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing supplier relationships in Mexico to support Cavender's private label product lines. This position serves as Cavender's on-the-ground representative in Mexico partnering closely with the Chief Merchant, design, merchandising, and production teams to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery while maintaining brand standards and product integrity. Duties and Responsibilities Support the "Cavender's Culture" and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values. Identify and evaluate tanneries, factories, and component suppliers within surrounding regions Source raw materials including leather, soles, hardware, buckles, trims, linings, and other footwear and belt components Negotiate pricing, lead times, and minimum order quantities to meet margin targets Conduct regular supplier visits to assess quality standards, production capabilities, and compliance practices Collaborate with the Chief Merchant and cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategy with seasonal product initiatives Monitor material costs and market trends to provide proactive recommendations Resolve quality or production issues in partnership with vendors Ensure suppliers meet ethical sourcing and compliance standards Maintain accurate records of vendor agreements, pricing structures, and sourcing timelines Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Product Design, Apparel, Merchandising, or related field preferred 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, footwear manufacturing, or leather goods Strong knowledge of leather sourcing and footwear or belt construction Experience working within the footwear and leather manufacturing market preferred Demonstrated negotiation and vendor management experience Bilingual in Spanish and English required Strong analytical and communication skills Ability to travel locally to factories and suppliers Preferred Skills Experience in private label product development Knowledge of leather grading and quality control processes Familiarity with denim or apparel sourcing Margin and cost management experience Cavander's is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
