Project Manager/Estimator

The Project Manager / Estimator is responsible for driving business growth while overseeing the full lifecycle of project estimating, bidding, and execution support. This role combines business development, estimating, and project coordination functions to ensure accurate bidding, strong client relationships, and successful project delivery.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Identify and pursue new business opportunities, markets, and service offeringsBuild and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, engineers, inspectors, owners, and agenciesAttend industry events to stay current on market conditions and competitionTrack state infrastructure initiatives and report potential impacts to leadershipProvide monthly updates to leadership on business development activities and pipelineCommunicate with customers regarding outstanding receivables over 90 days to improve collectionsReview project/letting drawings and specifications to perform accurate material take-offs and labor assessmentsImport lettings into Viewpoint (VP) and create new job quotesDevelop and maintain competitive bid pricing (internal and subcontractor)Evaluate project risks including scheduling conflicts, material availability, and logisticsCoordinate and manage the full estimating process, including bid preparation and submissionMaintain a repository of plans and specifications for all quoted projectsIdentify opportunities for new products, materials, or services aligned with company capabilitiesPrepare detailed handoff packages for awarded projects to Project ManagementCreate project timelines and material quantity lists for awarded workCoordinate with Operations for scheduling and procurementReview contracts to ensure alignment with bid scope and pricingAssemble material RFI packages including updated product data sheets from vendorsAssist with ordering specialized materials (pre-formed, colored materials, MMA, tape, etc.) in coordination with Project ManagementRun cost reports and track estimated versus actual project performanceMaintain detailed records of project estimates and outcomes for continuous improvementAssist accounting with collections over 60 days based on reporting dataMaintain a list of past-due contractors for leadership when determining RFQ distributionIdentify potential acquisitions, expansions, or new service/product linesDevelop proformas and implementation plans including staffing, equipment, and capital requirementsSupport execution strategies for growth initiativesAny other duties assigned as neededSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contractsStrong math and analytical skills, including cost analysisKnowledge of construction estimating and project workflowsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesExperience with Viewpoint (VP) software a plusCAD experience preferredExperience working with DOTD, TDOT, ARDOT, or similar agencies preferredMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s Degree required5–15 years of experience in construction estimating, project management, or business developmentProven track record of developing profitable client relationshipsExperience preparing bids, take-offs, and managing project dataAbility to travel as neededPowered by JazzHR9g30muvAUg
