Job DescriptionApave America Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Senior API 653 Inspector for a nested position in Houston, TX! We offer competitive pay, full benefits, and 401k w/ Company match!As a Senior API 653 Inspector you will plan, supervise, and perform internal and external visual inspections and nondestructive examination on above ground storage tanks in accordance with the API 653 standards and requirements, as well as provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and or review comprehensive storage tank inspection reports; Submit to client technically accurate reports documenting the condition of tank equipmentHave broad knowledge base relating to tank inspection and repair of aboveground storage tanks, and satisfy the minimum qualifications specified in API Standard 653: Tank Inspection, Repair, Alteration, and ReconstructionProvide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of tank equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by clientProvide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issuesProvide technical guidance, on an application of non-destructive examination techniques and proceduresFully comply with all Apave America Inc. and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiativesInterpret regulations, codes and industry standardsTravel to sites as needed.Qualifications, Experience and RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent is requiredMinimum of five (5) years of experience in tank inspection is requiredCurrent valid certification to American Petroleum Institute Standard API 653 is requiredExperience with MFL Scanning, Vacuum Box, and Settlement Surveys requiredAPI 510 and or 570 certifications will be considered an assetActive CWI certification is a plusNDT Level II MT/PT/UTT Certifications considered an assetIn-depth working knowledge of API 653 and ASME standards requiredWorking knowledge of API 510 and or 570 and ASME standards considered an assetExperience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineersKnowledgeable in Microsoft Software: Outlook, Word, Excel, and various IDMS platformsValid Driver's License and pre-access drug and alcohol testing requiredPre-employment background checks will be requiredValid TWIC Card requiredWork Conditions:Position is based out of a branch or client site locationField duties require indoor and or outdoor work in a plant atmosphereInteraction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnelWorking in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levelsWorking in extreme heat and or cold indoor and or outdoor weather conditionsPhysical and Mental Requirements:Move, carry, and lift objects 50 lbs. or more.Must be able to walk, stand, bend, reach, and climb.Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protectionMust be able to work in confined spaces and at heights, including climbing tanks, ladders, scaffolding, towers, piping systems, catwalks, structural steel, and wind turbines.Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectivelySufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employee to investigationsSufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permit the employee to perform routine in-field or office job dutiesSufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations to perform in-field or office job dutiesSufficient personal mobility to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders or stairwellsAbility to maintain focus and multitask effectivelyBenefits:Dental InsuranceVision InsuranceHealth InsurancePaid Time Off401(K) W/MatchingFlexible Spending AccountHealth Savings AccountNOTE: To be considered, applicants must be able provide documentation of current or previous certifications, as well as all classroom and/or on-the-job training (OJT) hours required for certification.*** Apave America Inc. is an equal opportunity employer that prohibits discrimination and harassment based on race, color, sex, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, and other protected characteristics. ***
