Title of Project/Activity:SNAP Grant Funded Translators - James MonroeActivity Details:Translators will support the School Meals & SNAP Dual Enrollment Pilot Project by assisting families who speak languages other than English during SNAP-related events and through follow-up communication. Translators will help ensure that information about the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is communicated clearly, respectfully, and in a culturally responsive manner.Responsibilities include translating information for families during school-based SNAP outreach events, assisting families with understanding and completing applications, and supporting follow-up communication between families and the SNAP School Coordinator. Translators may also assist during focus groups with caregivers and youth by providing interpretation to ensure meaningful participation.Translators will be selected based on language proficiency and availability to support identified school events and outreach activities. Success will be measured by increased family access to program information, successful communication with non-English speaking families, and support of SNAP and school meal application completion.Activity Date(s) and Time(s):Date: April 2026 thru June 30, 2026.Events: Translators may be needed to support after-school events that provide SNAP and school meal application assistance to families. Follow-up communication with families may also occur during this timeframe..Activity Cost:Up to four (4) translators to support SNAP outreach events and family follow-up as needed for languages including Spanish, Gujarati, and Tamil.Pay Rate: $40.00 per hour (max. 4 hours)Hours will vary based on event needs and family outreach activities during the project timelineThis position is Title Funded20-009-200-101-60-000Other Requirements:*
