Travel Medical-Surgical RN in Shelby, NC

Experienced RNs with a strong Med/Surg and Telemetry background will thrive in this fast-paced, dynamic setting. You will care for a diverse range of patients with complex diagnoses, including cardiac, respiratory, and neurological cases, across a 24-bed unit with full occupancy. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to further develop your clinical skills while supporting patient outcomes within a collaborative environment.Schedule/Hours:Shifts: 0645-1915 or 1845-0715Weekend rotation: Every other weekendSchedule cycle: Every 6 weeksFloating required within the region, with travel time paid when floating mid-shiftHoliday coverage: 75% participation expectedRequired Qualifications:Active RN licenseMinimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experienceAccepted: First-time travelers welcomeCertifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (must be current)EPIC EMR expertise (at least 6 months required, please specify experience in submission)Cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone), wound care, blood products, IV starts, patient care with tubes/drainsResponsibilities:Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with a wide variety of diagnosesMonitor and interpret telemetry data; manage medical/surgical needsRespond quickly and effectively in a high-acuity environmentCollaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, and hospitalist supportFloat between facilities within the designated region as operationally requiredPerks:Support from dedicated hospital teams including RT, intensivists, and telemetry monitoringModern equipment: Alaris IV Pumps, Omnicell, Masimo monitorsFree on-site parkingPositive, team-oriented unit culturePaid travel time when floating mid-shift between facilities
