Job Title: Advanced Automotive Technician (Tech 2)Department: Repair / QualityLocation: Multiple LocationsPay rate: $36 / hour on 1099Job SummaryThe Advanced Automotive Technician is responsible for vehicle inspection, diagnostics, repair, and maintenance. This role involves working with mechanical and electrical systems, performing computer-based diagnostics, and communicating repair needs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairsTroubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, including computer-based diagnosticsRepair or replace defective componentsInterpret electrical schematics and perform testing as neededUtilize diagnostic and shop equipment effectivelyMaintain accurate service records and documentationCommunicate technical issues and repair recommendations clearly to customers and team membersEnsure adherence to safety and quality standardsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum 5 years of automotive repair experience or equivalent trainingValid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving recordStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with diagnostic tools and basic computer skillsWorking knowledge of electrical systems and CAN communicationAbility to work flexible schedules, including weekends and overtimeAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environmentsMust provide own professional automotive toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience with OEM or luxury vehiclesAutomotive technician certification (ASE or equivalent)Experience with electric vehicles (EV)Familiarity with ADAS systems (diagnosis, repair, calibration)Experience with fabrication, wiring, or harness buildingEPA 609 Certification or OEM Master Technician CertificationPrevious senior or lead technician experience
