Information Technology Project ManagerLocation: Remote (with occasional travel to Pierre, South Dakota)Duration: 12 months starting June 1, 2026 (extendable based on performance and need)Job SummaryThe IT Project Manager will lead and manage enterprise-level and division-specific technology initiatives for the Division of Child Support. This role focuses on system modernization, strategic planning, and successful delivery of IT projects by collaborating with stakeholders, development teams, and vendors.Key ResponsibilitiesLead design, development, and implementation of information system transformation projectsProvide strategic direction for IT initiatives within the Division of Child SupportDefine and align business and technical requirements with stakeholders, product owners, and scrum teamsManage large-scale enterprise IT projects as well as smaller initiativesCoordinate cross-functional teams including developers, vendors, and business stakeholdersEnsure project governance frameworks and monitoring controls are in placeDeliver projects on time, within scope, and within budgetMentor and guide state personnel in project management practicesSupport knowledge transfer and capability building for internal teamRequired Skills & QualificationsStrong knowledge of child support program policies, procedures, and operationsProven experience in child support system modernization projectsDemonstrated success managing complex IT projectsPMP certification or equivalent project management experienceExpertise in project governance, risk management, and delivery frameworksExperience working with multiple software development methodologies:AgileWaterfallDevOpsStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsAbility to translate business needs into technical solutionsPreferred QualificationsExperience working with government or public sector agenciesFamiliarity with enterprise IT transformation initiativesExperience managing vendor relationships and contractsStrong leadership and mentoring experienceSoft SkillsStrategic thinking and decision-making abilityExcellent leadership and team coordination skillsStrong interpersonal and communication abilitiesProblem-solving and analytical mindsetAbility to adapt to changing priorities and environments
