Position Overview The Process Engineer plays a key role in supporting production, product development, and maintenance to ensure operational success. This role focuses on driving process improvements, implementing equipment upgrades, and supporting new installations to deliver high-quality films and compounds efficiently and cost-effectively. Key Responsibilities Plan, conduct, and document processing trials (film extrusion, compounding, testing, and sample analysis). Optimize process parameters to improve efficiency during new product introductions. Identify and implement innovations, process improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives. Enhance manufacturing operations through scrap reduction, process troubleshooting, setup time reduction, quality improvements, and maximizing equipment performance. Provide technical and engineering support across production and related plant functions. Participate in equipment selection, setup, validation, and operator training. Actively support product and equipment validation activities. Maintain compliance with quality management systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with company success factors and standards. Qualifications & Competencies Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Plastics, Chemical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent). 10+ years of process engineering experience in a plastics/polymer manufacturing environment (compounding, film extrusion, or calendering). Hands-on, proactive approach with a strong problem-solving mindset. Skills & Knowledge Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma tools preferred. Proven ability to assess and improve processes, productivity, and material utilization. Strong written and verbal communication skills for leading investigations, documenting corrective actions, and collaborating across teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and statistical software (e.g., Minitab). Ability to create clear procedures, work instructions, technical reports, and trial protocols. Strong analytical skills to evaluate processes and recommend improvements. Additional Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required (in addition to the qualifications above). Strong English language comprehension, written communication, and reasoning skills (verified through testing/interview). Demonstrated math and technical aptitude. For specialized roles (e.g., maintenance-related), documented competency in required technical skills (such as electrical knowledge) may be required.
