I&E Supervisor Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work alongside team members to assist with any tasks or labor and all other duties of a supervisor.
Minimum of 5 years Supervising electrical, instrumentation and pneumatic construction installation experience
Ensure that all work is performed safely in accordance with OSHA regulations and latest NFPA 70E, Client and Company Safety Manual and in accordance with client specifications as well as good engineering practice.
Ensure that Hazard Risk Assessments are performed prior to performing any electrical work to ensure proper PPE required for the task.
Comply with the JSA process, permit to work, LOTO and Energized Work Permits Process
Conduct safety meeting each morning and ensure compliance to safe work practices.
Ensure all personnel are properly trained and all proper PPE is worn at all times.
Participate in the Behavioral Based Safety Program
Utilize STOP Work Authority, when applicable
Perform daily inspections on electrical PPE, insulated tools and all safety equipment.
Plan and direct the layout and installation of all associated electrical wiring, cable tray, control panel and electrical equipment installations in accordance with the approved for Construction Electrical Drawings, the P&ID’s and in compliance with National Electrical C ode and customer specifications. Supervise and direct crew throughout project.
Ensure all equipment, cables, connectors, cable tray, conduit, fittings, etc; are installed per the manufacture's specifications and the company specifications as well as any other applicable codes and standards.
Plan and direct the layout and installation of all associated instrumentation and pneumatic devices, stainless steel tubing, tubing tray, control panel and equipment installations in accordance with the approved for Construction P&ID’s and associated drawings. Supervise and direct crew throughout project.
Act as direct interface with customer and supervise installation crew to achieve efficient project execution. Will be responsible to understand the project scope and identify any change order required due to scope expansion.
Install and test electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Install wires, circuit breakers, transformers, or other electrical components.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and functionality of the safety of system.
Test pneumatic systems and complete operation of circuits, equipment, relays, valves, actuators, transmitters, switches, etc., using testing devices to ensure compatibility and the functionality of the safety system per the SAFE Charts.
Complete daily reports, timesheets and expense reports as necessary. Perform daily inspections and maintenance on electrical equipment.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Working Knowledge and Safe Work Practices of AC and DC Voltage ranging from 12VDC to 480 VAC at a minimum. 4160 VAC experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of Digital and Analog inputs, 1-5vdc, 4-20mA for Instrumentation, PLC Equipment, HMI’s, relay logic and electronic controls for production and industrial equipment.
Ability to read P&ID’s, Pneumatic Schematics, One-line drawings and Electrical drawings.
Experience with running conduit, cables, cable tray systems, stainless steel tubing, tubing tray and associated systems.
Experience installing cable connectors, wire ferrules, tubing fittings, etc.
Strong instrumentation, pneumatic and electrical background. Ability to use hand and power tools.
Use and understand the principles of operation of all meters and instruments used in applicable I&E work.
Work with drawings, sketches, specs, as-builts, and make new for proposed installations and completed projects.
Ability to properly maintain and redline construction drawings for Engineer/Draftsman to complete as-builts for the project.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. Work experience and demonstrated ability of oral and written communications may be substituted in lieu of formal education.
Knowledge of all technical calculations required for electrical, instrumentation and pneumatic operation of the facility and basic computer skills.
Minimum of 5 years Supervising electrical, instrumentation and pneumatic construction installation experience
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and provide technical support as well as hands on support for all aspects of I&E Projects and day-to-day operations of the customers’ production facilities, which may include any electrical, instrumentation and pneumatic maintenance, repair, new construction, commissioning and start-up of the facility.
Supervise and Cross Train new or less experienced employees in all aspects of Safety in the Workplace and the proper installation, maintenance, repair, calibrating and troubleshooting procedures.
