Principal Engineer
Overview
As Principal Engineer you lead automation and control system projects for process plants, guiding design, configuration, testing, startup, and training. You’ll work within a cross-functional team to deliver solutions that meet client needs and regulatory expectations, while prioritizing customer satisfaction and technical excellence. The role involves on-site start-up and occasional travel to client facilities, contributing to our scale-enabled, standards-driven automation practice. This is a senior, hands-on position shaping complex control systems for life sciences and other process industries.

Key requirementsBS Engineering degree8–10 years’ experience in automation projects for process plants, Life Sciences preferredGMP, controls design, and facility startup experienceExperience with Rockwell and Ignition; serversBatch/DCS recipe development understandingControlLogix PLC programming experienceKnowledge of ISA S88, ISA S95, GAMP 5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11Experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA, databases, historians, reporting tools, tuning loops, startup services, and qualificationsSolid OO software development and delivery methodology understandingExperience with virtual server-based control architectures and industrial networks (Ethernet, Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet)Instrumentation specification, installation, troubleshooting, and control panel designHands-on startup troubleshooting and complex system testing at customer sitesCustomer-focusedStrong technical advisory and communication abilitiesCollaborative and adaptable in cross-functional teamsRockwellIgnitionControlLogix PLCs
