DescriptionBoulder County Sheriff OfficeCorrections Program Coordinator—Medical Unit Jail DivisionDays of work are Monday through Friday 8:00AM-5:00PMHiring Range: $5,869 - $7,159 MonthlyPay Range: $5,869 - $8,449 MonthlyThe Medical Corrections Program Coordinator provides support services as developed and defined by the Health Services Administrator.New employees receive an 80-hour bank of vacation at the time of hire, in addition to 8 hours of both vacation and medical leave accruals each month.Boulder County is a family-friendly workplace dedicated to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful environment for all employees. If the hiring manager selects you to advance in the hiring process, your cover letter and resume will then be accessible to the hiring team.Examples of DutiesResponds to informational requests from internal and external sources.Research historical data related to the inmate population and provides this information to the requesting entity.Responds to request for medical information and forwards appropriate copies in a timely manner.Responsible for scanning all medical documents into the Electronic Health Record.Schedules and coordinates all outside medical/dental appointments and coordinates transfers and transports.Coordinates receipt of medical records related to outside medical appointments or visits.Enters maintenance requests.Assists with the completion of monthly payroll.Sorts and organizes invoices for payment on a monthly basis.Calculates Medicaid rate based on date of service and billing codes to approve payment of medical invoices.Works with HHS to establish Medicaid billing procedures in the jail.Handles all Medicaid billing for inmates within 90 days of release. Records inmate debts and removes funds when available.Prepares Reports and Forms as requestedOrders all office, medical, dental and pharmaceutical supplies and maintains adequate stock. Inventories and stocks all supplies upon arrival. Prepares reports/statistics on program activity.Performs related duties as required.Answers phone and relays messages to medical team.Uses radio to call for rover to assist in medical.Required QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Must be well organized and well versed in Microsoft Office Suites. Must have the ability to think and act critically. Must interact well with others. Must understand confidentiality regarding the handling of sensitive inmate information. Must have a demonstrated understanding of the security and confidentiality issues surrounding inmate medical care in a detention setting. Single eye correctable vision is acceptable. Minimum peripheral vision for single vision is 900 on the ear side and 700 on the nose side. Frequently uses peripheral vision to observe and monitor multiple persons and activity.Hearing - Dual hearing is required. When tested by use of an audiometric device, does not have an average hearing loss in the better ear greater than 40 decibels at 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without a hearing aid when the audiometric device is calibrated to American National Standard. Medical staff are constantly required to listen to multiple audible inputs simultaneously such as portable radio conversations, telephone conversations, conversations with inmates or others, noises within the housing units.Sense of Smell - Intact. Occasionally uses olfactory sense to detect illegal use of drugs or chemicals. Occasionally uses the olfactory sense to evaluate the presence of toxic vapors, smoke and fuels. Speech – Medical staff must have the ability to speak and understand English clearly within normal parameters. Constantly uses voice to communicate with other officers, professionals, prisoners, and the public in person and by telephone and two-way radio. Clear diction and audible volume is required. Body Movement – Medical staff must have mobility of both arms and legs with the ability to move around the work area unassisted. Must be able to walk quickly and climb stairs. Must have the ability and range of flexibility to reach overhead, reach below knees, and to bend over or squat down to perform job functions.
