This role focuses heavily on large-scale master planning, zoning strategy, and land entitlement, with responsibility for both project delivery and team leadership.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of technical oversight, client engagement, and team development, and is motivated to help shape and expand a high-performing department.The RoleYou'll take ownership of a planning and landscape architecture team, overseeing day-to-day operations while guiding longer-term growth. The position blends leadership, project management, and business development, with regular involvement in public-facing presentations and stakeholder coordination.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team focused on planning and design projectsOversee master planning efforts, zoning/rezoning processes, and entitlement strategiesManage client relationships and support business development initiativesPrepare proposals, contracts, and oversee financial performance of projectsRepresent projects in public meetings, hearings, and community engagement settingsCoordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver complex developmentsSupport recruitment, training, and development of junior staffContribute to marketing efforts and maintain a strong industry presenceWhat They're Looking ForBackground in landscape architecture, planning, or a related disciplineProfessional licensure (e.g., Landscape Architect, Planner, or Engineer) preferredSeveral years of experience within land development, planning, or designStrong understanding of entitlement processes and local development regulationsAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environmentConfident communicator with experience presenting to public boards or stakeholdersProficiency in industry-standard design and documentation toolsDemonstrated leadership, financial oversight, and business development capability
