Founding CFO OpportunityOur client, an emerging private equity investment firm focused on critical infrastructure sectors, is looking for a founding CFO to design, build, and lead the fund finance function.This is a highly hands-on opportunity for a finance leader with experience in private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, or institutional asset management, someone ready to create institutional-quality infrastructure from day one.Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, the CFO will be central to investor confidence, regulatory compliance, and the firm's expansion into additional investment vehicles. The platform also includes a community/give-back element, making strong judgment, integrity, and clear communication essential.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee third-party partners (fund administrator, audit, tax) and ensure audit-ready outputs.Build and implement the fund finance foundation, including processes, controls, a close calendar, and reporting templates.Coordinate tax deliverables (e.g., K-1 process through external providers).Produce quarterly reporting for Limited Partners and manage LP-facing finance Q&A.Personally execute capital calls and distributions, including notices, tracking, and follow-through.Own fund accounting and investor capital mechanics (capital accounts, allocations, waterfalls/carry calculations).Support growth initiatives, including fundraising readiness and finance infrastructure for additional investment vehicles.Establish and maintain the regulatory/compliance framework and filing calendar within an SEC-regulated environment.Build the internal finance function over timestarting lean with external admin support and scaling hiring as the platform grows.
