Automation Shop Technician
Department: AutomationLocation: Steubenville, OHDescriptionThe Automation Shop Tech is responsible for hands-on work in the shop, including inventory control, preventative maintenance, equipment repair, and assisting in building and testing automation systems. The Automation Shop Technician will also maintain detailed asset tracking and parts management using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).ResponsibilitiesMaintain organization, cleanliness, and inventory control of the Automation ShopPerform preventive maintenance, repair, and retrofitting of control cabinets, valves, flowmeters, and electrical automation componentsConduct pre- and post-job functional testing and system validation of automation equipmentTrack assets, work orders, and inventory in CMMS and inventory systemsReceive, log, and distribute parts from daily shipments and technician requisitionsPrepare reports documenting work performed on automation assetsAssist in the build and wiring of electrical/control cabinets and instrumentation systemsSupport record-keeping, documentation, and quality control practicesPerform other job-related duties as assignedRequirementsHigh school diploma or GEDStrong work ethic and hands-on mechanical/electrical aptitudeExperience with electronics, instrumentation, and industrial control componentsPrior experience with CMMS or inventory tracking systemsExcellent organizational and communication skillsValid driver’s licenseAbility to work effectively in a team environmentOil & gas and/or water transfer system experienceUnderstanding of SCADA and PLC systemsExperience reading wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawingsExperience building, repairing, or retrofitting electrical/control cabinetsKnowledge of valve and actuator systemsField-Based | Full-Time | 12-hour shifts possible | Travel and overnight stays as requiredOutdoor work in all weather conditionsBenefitsPaid HolidaysMedical / Dental / Vision coverageHealth savings account (HSA)Company Paid Life Insurance and Accidental & Dismemberment InsuranceVoluntary Life Insurance401k with a company matchPaid Time OffEmployee Assistance ProgramProfessional Development ProgramsEmployee Referral ProgramsVoluntary Benefits Offered#INDHP
