Job Description Morehouse General Hospital is seeking a Full Time Nurse Practitioner to join a busyPodiatry Practice. The ideal candidate will be a NP with wound care experience who iswilling to learn, confident, and has a true interest in Podiatry.You will focus on direct patient care, providing clinical services such as patientassessment, diabetic foot care, diagnostics and prescriptions, minor procedures, preand post-op care, collaboration, referrals, and patient education.Key Responsibilities? Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive physical exams, evaluate medicalhistories, and assess circulatory and neurological status in the lower legs.? Diabetic & Wound Care: Manage diabetic ulcers, neuropathies, infections, andperform routine or specialized wound debridement and dressing changes.? Diagnostics & Prescriptions: Order and interpret X-rays, MRIs, and vascularstudies; prescribe medications and order custom orthotics.? Minor Procedures: Perform in-office procedures such as nail debridement,ingrown toenail removal, and joint or soft-tissue injections.? Pre- & Post-Operative Care: Assist with surgical preparations and follow-up carefor patients recovering from podiatric surgeries.? Collaboration & Referrals: Work closely with endocrinologists, vascular surgeons,and primary care providers for patients with systemic conditions affecting foothealth.Qualifications & Requirements? Education: Valid, unrestricted state licensure as an Advanced Practice RegisteredNurse (APRN) / Nurse Practitioner in Louisiana? Certification Preferred but not required? Skills: Strong clinical assessment capabilities, foundational knowledge in woundcare or orthopedics, and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).? Ability to work independently, but collaboratively.? Coachable, seeks growthSchedule and Practice Details?
