Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance. On site in Tysons Corner, VA 3 days per weekDev Technology Group is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support a project to plan and implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for web-based applications as part of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) for a federal government client. The ideal candidate will have relevant development language and development leadership experience, strong collaboration and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex work activities in a deadline-driven environment. This is a great opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that provide clear value to end users and our federal government clients.SummaryIn collaboration with the Engineering Lead and incumbent team members, the Senior Systems Engineer will have the responsibility to plan, design, and build the infrastructure for cloud-based identity and authentication services supporting MFA for web-based applications. The primary focus of this role is to build scalable, secure, and highly available backend infrastructure and services leveraging industry available and customer preferred solutions (e.g., AWS Cognito, Okta, Login.gov). The ideal candidate will combine strong cloud architecture expertise with deep knowledge of identity, security, and distributed systems.Required Education, Experience, and Skills:  Bachelor’s Degree with ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environmentProject experience planning and building infrastructure for an MFA solutionKnowledge and management of AWS GovCloud services, specifically Cognito, Lambda, S3, EC2, and API GatewayProject experience with Active Directory and connection to Federated sourcesExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)Experience configuring and hardening infrastructure within AWS GovCloud or FedRAMP authorized environmentsKnowledge of NIST SP 800-53 security controls, specifically regarding AC and IAWorkload management using the Agile Scrum or Kanban methodology via JiraExcellent communication skills (both verbal and written) plus Active listening skillsAbility to discuss technical issues with non-technical government officialsAbility to problem-solve and develop solutions to complex business needsPreferred Education, Experience, and Skills:Experience with logging, monitoring, and auditing authentication events (CloudWatch, SIEM tools)Experience with serverless architectures in AWSExperience tuning and securing APIU gateways and network boundaries for identity servicesAWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect)Experience authoring technical documentation, boundary diagrams, and configuration management settings to support the federal ATO process Who We AreDev Technology is a growing IT company with an employee-centric culture that works on mission-critical projects for the federal government.
