Summary: Contractor personnel will work side-by-side with government employees and perform similar functions. Specifically, the contractor will supplement existing staffing in the management of projects, the implementation of medical readiness and logistics support plans and documenting of procedures. In addition, the contractor will work special projects/programs deemed necessary by the Contracting Officer (CO) or COR to support ACC/SGX MEFPAK Programs. Primary work location is within the Langley AFB area. AFB area to perform work. Temporary travel to areas outside the local area may also be required.

Job Description
The Medical Readiness Specialist will assist the MEFPAK Manager and ACC/SG staff in the development of expeditionary ground medical capabilities. Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:
Assist with performing analytical rigorous methodologies used in the development of current and future Joint operational medical force planning and modernization.
Identify and de-conflict equipment issues for proposed UTCs.
Identify and de-conflict training requirements for proposed capabilities.
As directed, serve as the command representative/liaison with DoD, Joint Staff, and Air Staff on MEFPAK plans, programs, and activities.
Organize and plan validation exercises and activities to include arranging meetings and conferences to include planning for lodging, meals, transportation, protocol, and development of agendas, as directed.
Conduct analysis and analyze policy to produce doctrine and guidance in support of capability development. Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:
Assist in development and coordination of concept of operations for proposed UTCs.
Assist in development of UTC documents for DCAPES.
Coordinate and prepare written input to applicable publications and/or directives with appropriate HQ ACC, Air Force or installations and provide written feedback to include concurrence or non-concurrence and any recommended changes, if applicable.
Provide short suspense analyses, briefings, information papers, review of guidance documents, preparation of correspondence, and coordination in support of the Expeditionary Medical Operations Division and the ACC Command Surgeon
Assist in the development and maintenance of training standards and mission essential task lists (METLS). Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:
Provide written or verbal input to policy, doctrine, or guidance as appropriate.
Develop and maintain logistics standardized training requirements.
Develop and maintain logistics METLs.
When directed, develop and present headquarters briefings.
Keep abreast of all operational issues, attend meetings and conferences as required, keeping Division Chief and ACC Surgeon informed of relevant issues.
Qualifications
Must have recent knowledge and experience working with military planning concepts and systems.
Must possess a working knowledge of the DoD Military Health System (MHS), Joint Planning Process, and DoD medical planning tools such as Medical Readiness Decision Support System (MRDSS).
Have a thorough understanding of operational medical capabilities and planning for combat operations.
Have the ability to work independently and perform in-depth analysis of medical strategic and operational plans, doctrine and policy and must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Must have knowledge and skill in use of basic office automation systems, hardware and software.
Must have proven experience working with a military team.
Must have or be able acquire a Secret security clearance.
